«Rheincity» residential and commercial development
The Rheincity site, acquired by Mettler Entwickler through a 90-year building rights contract with the SBB, is set to undergo a transformation. A residential neighbourhood with commercial space on the ground floor is under construction here.
The development plan envisages transforming the site into a vibrant, urban space in which living and working come together in perfect harmony. The new Güterstrasse, framed by a boulevard, and the picturesque riverside path along the Giessenbach give the area a unique flair. A spacious park with trees is taking shape between the residential buildings and will serve as a place where neighbourhood residents can socialise and have fun, making «Rheincity» a real feel-good destination.
Special focus is being given to sustainability. The rental apartments will be built in environmentally friendly timber construction, based on the «SNBS Gold» certification. The project will be realised in two stages, with each phase carefully planned to turn the vision of «Rheincity» as a showcase for forward-looking, sustainable living into reality.
