«Bündt» residential development
Mettler Entwickler AG has realised the «Bündt» residential development in a prime location. The project was designed to provide a magnificent panoramic view of the Säntis, the Alpstein massif and the local recreational area.
The six buildings in the project were built using a stable and durable solid construction method, with particular attention paid to the sustainability and environmental compatibility of the materials. In the basement, waterproof concrete provides a solid and secure foundation, while the interior walls made of natural sand-lime brick create a cosy atmosphere. The reinforced concrete ceilings give the buildings additional stability. An innovative single-skin masonry with external thermal insulation was chosen for the façades, which both guarantees energy efficiency and fulfils aesthetic requirements. A particular highlight is the non-walkable flat roof, which has been extensively landscaped, bringing a little piece of nature directly onto the buildings. The underfloor heating is supplied by environmentally friendly heat pumps that draw their energy from geothermal probes and thus contribute to ecological living.
